Day 1
Flight to Izmir – Ephesus Tour – Flight to Istanbul
Early in the morning, you'll be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Istanbul Airport for your flight to Izmir. Upon arrival at Izmir Airport, you will be promptly transferred to Ephesus to begin your exploration without delay. We start by visiting the Ancient City of Ephesus, among the best preserved Greco-Roman cities in the world. After lunch, we depart to visit the House of the Virgin Mary, where she is said to have been brought by St. John and to have spent the last of her days; we will see the shrine and small chapel, a pilgrimage site recently visited by Pope Benedict. The tour also includes a visit to the remains of the Artemis Temple, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred to Izmir Airport for your early evening flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your hotel. *(Meals: Lunch)*
