Your Itinerary

Day 1
Istanbul to Eceabat: The ANZAC Battlefields
An early morning transfer collects guests from their Istanbul hotels and departs by coach for Eceabat, with lunch included along the way. Upon arrival around midday, the tour heads directly into an emotional and memorable circuit of the ANZAC Battlefield area, visiting the Kabatepe Epic Promotion Centre (War Museum), the Beach Cemetery (John Simpson's grave), ANZAC Cove, Ari Burnu (the first ANZAC landing place), Lone Pine Cemetery (the Australian memorial), Johnston's Jolly with a walk through the ANZAC trenches overlooking Shrapnel Valley, the Turkish Memorial, The Nek and Walker's Ridge, and Chunuk Bair (the main New Zealand memorial). The evening includes a screening of the film "Gallipoli" before an overnight stay in Eceabat or Canakkale (breakfast included the following morning).
Day 4
Troy and the Return to Istanbul
Troy remains an active excavation site, with new discoveries made each year. Departing from your hotel in Eceabat (around 7:30am or 1pm depending on the season and daily schedule), the tour crosses the Dardanelles and continues about 36km south of Çanakkale to the ancient site of Troy. A local, English-speaking guide leads visitors through the 9 layered city ruins, sharing the history of the site's excavation and the mythical stories associated with it, including a stop at a replica of the wooden Trojan Horse for photos, the excavation information centre, the fortification walls of Troy VI, the Temple of Athena, Schliemann's trench, the entrance ramp to Troy II, the sanctuary, and the odeon. After lunch back in Eceabat, the tour visits a local winery for a tasting before the transfer back to Istanbul departs in the late afternoon (around 5:30pm, though timing may shift depending on the conclusion of the Gallipoli tour). Dinner is not included, though the driver can stop on request at a roadside restaurant.
